Publication Ethics

Fanur Islamic Law Review adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and upholds the highest standards of academic integrity. All parties — authors, reviewers, and editors — are bound by these ethical standards.

Author responsibilities

  • Submit original work that is not under consideration elsewhere and has not been previously published
  • Properly cite and acknowledge the work of others; self-plagiarism is treated as seriously as plagiarism of others' work
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest, funding sources, or institutional affiliations that may influence the research
  • Obtain all necessary permissions for the use of copyrighted material
  • Ensure the accuracy of all data reported and make datasets available upon reasonable request
  • List as co-authors only those individuals who have made substantive intellectual contributions to the work

Editorial responsibilities

  • Evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of their academic merit, without regard to the authors' race, gender, institutional affiliation, nationality, or other characteristics
  • Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities
  • Disclose and manage any conflicts of interest arising from editorial assignments
  • Act promptly and decisively in cases of suspected misconduct, including investigation and, where appropriate, retraction of published articles
