Peer Review Process

Fanur Islamic Law Review employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of all published articles. Reviewers and authors remain mutually anonymous throughout the review process.

Review stages

  1. Initial screening: Submitted manuscripts are assessed by the editorial team for scope fit, formatting compliance, and originality using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin/iThenticate). Manuscripts with similarity scores above 20% are rejected at this stage.
  2. Peer review: Manuscripts passing initial screening are sent to at least two independent external reviewers with relevant subject expertise.
  3. Review duration: Reviewers are given 4 weeks to complete their assessments.
  4. Editorial decision: Decisions (accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject) are based on reviewer recommendations and the editorial team's evaluation.
  5. Revision and resubmission: Authors are expected to submit revised manuscripts within 4 weeks (minor revisions) or 8 weeks (major revisions), accompanied by a point-by-point response to reviewers.
  6. Final decision: Following resubmission, the Editor-in-Chief issues the final acceptance or rejection decision.
